The search for alternative lockdown entertainment and spiritual support on the airwaves during the Covid-19 emergency has left Ireland with dozens of new radio stations and daily broadcasts.
A Lions Club charity group in the west created a new daily community radio show that bans the use of the words 'Covid-19' in a bid to cheer up thousands of people cocooned at home or resident in nursing homes. "We took our inspiration from an 83-year-old Paddy Joe Lynch in Ballinameen" says Kathleen Shanagher, a former President of Roscommon Lions Club.
