The UK will be a vastly different place when the coronavirus lockdown ends – with better NHS funding, fewer people packed onto public transport and more working from home.

That's according to two leading futurologists, who predict that working practices will be changed forever. But while increased working from home will please environmentalists, it is likely more people will use their cars because they find using public transport "scary" during a pandemic.

Tom Cheesewright told The Sun that the 9 to 5 will largely come to an end, with "smart companies" making changes to the working day.

Workers could also have more flexibility to incorporate exercise into their day, he said. But one side effect could be that people who do have to travel
