Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich “loves football because there is not a formula”, according to a board member who gave an insight into the Blues boss’ leadership.
The Russian has been the owner at Stamford Bridge since 2003, pumping millions into the London club. It has seen the Blues win five Premier League titles, five FA Cups and a Champions League.
Fans have hailed the Russian, who made his money in commodities during the 1980s and 1990s, for his impact. And club director Eugene Tenenbaum revealed the 53-year-old’s reason for first buying the club 17 years ago was for a new challenge.
