PHILADELPHIA - Police say a man and woman became the victims of a double shooting early Sunday morning.A 19-year-old man and 18-year-old were reportedly shot as they sat inside their car on 8th and Huntington streets shortly before 3 am.Police say shots were fired into the car after another car pulled up beside the victims.Both victims were rushed to the hospital, but their conditions are unknown at this time.Police say no motive is known, and no arrests have been made.

India's Covid-19 case tally rose by 18,840 in a day to reach 4,36,04,394 while the number of active cases increased to 1,25,028, according to Union Health Ministry data. BELLEFONTE, Pa. - A man has been sentenced to decades in prison in the rapes of four former Penn State students over a seven-year period.Jeffrey Fields, 38, of Port Matilda was sentenced Friday in Centre County to 29 1/2 to 61 years in state prison in the assaults, which occurred between 2010 and 2017 in State College, the Centre Daily Times reported.Fields, who worked in State College at the time, pleaded guilty in March to all but two of the charges filed against him, including felony counts of rape and sexual assault.First Assistant District Attorney Sean McGraw said Fields was a "very sophisticated rapist" who committed "calculated, planned attacks on vulnerable women."One victim said in a statement to President Judge Pamela Ruest that the defendant "Changed my life completely. He changed who I am at my core."Defense attorney Steve Trialonas said in a sentencing memo that each of the rapes had "…overtones of power and control; two aspects in Jeff’s life that were absent outside these crimes." PHILADELPHIA - A man was fatally shot Sunday night after visiting his sick mother, police say. Authorities say the incident happened on the 3300 block of Smedley Street in the city's North Philadelphia neighborhood just before 10:30 p.m. According to police, officers with the 39th District responded to several calls reporting gunshots. When police arrived on scene, they found a 40-year-old man on the ground next to his vehicle with the door open, per officials. Authorities say the man was shot at least one time in the head and he was bleeding heavily. Officers rushed the man to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:39 p.m., police say. Philadelphia Chief Inspector Scott Small says investigators know at least two shots were fired from a large caliber semiautomatic weapon. Investigators also believe the shooter was standing very close to the 40-year-old victim at the time of the shooting, according to police. "This is a tragic story because this 40-year-old does not live here," Small said. "He comes here and takes care of his mother who is sick, and he comes here on a regular basis [to] take care of his mother.
