Chicken factory supplying KFC and MS shuts after coronavirus outbreak infects 58 staff

A major British factory that supplies meat to KFC and M&S has been forced to shut down for two weeks after 58 members of staff tested positive for coronavirus.

The 2 Sisters Food Group confirmed that dozens of employees were struck down with the deadly virus at their site in Llangefni, Anglesey, north Wales, which processes chicken for high street supermarkets.

Earlier today it was reported that one member of the Two Sisters site is in being treated in hospital The company said it was no doing "the right thing" by ceasing operations for a fortnight.

In a statement, it said: "The health, safety and well-being of our colleagues is ultimately the thing that matters most at our business.
