Clap For Carers sees Scots come out in their thousands to thank key workers for eighth week

Thousands of Scots around the country have shown their support for NHS staff and key workers on the coronavirus frontline for the eighth week.

People took to their windows, doorsteps, gardens and balconies in the weekly tradition to thank those fighting the deadly virus. 'Clap for our Carers' took place at 8pm throughout the United Kingdom, as health staff and other key workers continued their amazing effort against Covid-19.

It comes after a similar tribute was paid the last seven weeks, with a number of pipers joining the public as part of the 'Pipe Up!
