Disability Scoop (9/22, Taketa) reports some San Diego parents and advocates are arguing “students with disabilities need in-person services” more than any other group of students struggling with distance learning.
A recent special education ruling last month by a California administrative judge “suggests that schools, in certain cases, have an obligation to serve students with disabilities in person – even if the schools are barred from reopening by the state, which could be the case in San Diego County soon.” Some experts say Judge Cararea Lucier’s “order means schools aren’t going to get away with not providing in-person services if a student truly needs them.”.
