Composer Krzysztof Penderecki has sadly passed away at the age of 86. THR reports that the musician, who was behind classic themes from The Exorcist and The Shining, died on Sunday, March 29 at his home in Krakow, Poland after a long illness.
In the statement, Krzysztof‘s family made it clear that his death did not have to do with the COVID-19 coronavirus, and he had tested negative for the virus after his carer was diagnosed with it. Krzysztof earned four Grammys in his lifetime and was behind the “Threnody to the Victims of Hiroshima” score, which was used in The People Under the Stairs; The Children of Men; and in the Twin Peaks sequel.
