The Government's Chief Scientific Adviser Sir Patrick Vallance said he expects the number of coronavirus deaths to rise in the UK "for another two weeks.” Sir Patrick Vallance said there were signs that hospital and intensive care admissions were beginning to level off and that the slow increase of admissions could mean the NHS may be able to cope.
He said it is likely deaths across the UK will continue for the next two weeks as the Government admitted the UK is yet to reach its peak.
Mr Vallance said even after the number of intensive care admissions begins to fall it is likely deaths will see a rise and Brits should not be complacent.
