Greater Manchester's  coronavirus  death toll has risen again. NHS chiefs say 35 more lives have been claimed by the virus in the region.

The latest data released on Friday (April 24) shows at least 1,117 people have died in our hospitals having testing positive for COVID-19.

The biggest rise in deaths was recorded at Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, where another 11 patients died. Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust reported a further nine coronavirus deaths, Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust seven and Stockport NHS Foundation Trust three.

Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, Salford Royal and Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust all reported one further death.
