Covid-19 could be over in the UK on September 30, according to modelling from scientists. Data from the pandemic has been used by a team in at the Singapore University of Technology to predict the date cases will die out in countries hardest hit by the disease.
Their findings suggest there will be no new cases or second wave in Britain by the end of September. However, in the US they predict the virus will be gone by November 11.
Their model works by working out the trajectory of the spread of the virus over time while tracking the actual number of new confirmed cases per day in a given country, as of May 12.
By inputting the numbers of each country's outbreak, the scientists have come up with their prediction of when the virus will wane.
