NEW DELHI: Wildlife authorities across India have been asked to remain on high alert, watch for any sick animal with potential symptoms and reduce animal-human interface, a day after a tiger at a zoo in the US was tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
The decision was taken early Monday, after the US Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National Veterinary Services Laboratories confirmed that a four-year old tiger housed in a zoo in New York has SARS-Cov2--the virus that causes covid-19 in humans.
