The coronavirus lockdown has reportedly seen demand for one company's sex dolls skyrocket - with bosses now planning to release a robotic alternative with a 'heartbeat'.

Sex Doll Genie co-founder Janet Stevenson said they are struggling to keep on top of orders, having seen "hundreds" more enquiries in recent months.

And while many company's struggle with many economies on its knees and employees facing potentially redundancy, the adult firm is planning a recruitment drive.

Ms Stevenson said customers range from single men - whose orders have risen by 51.6% over February and March -  to couples who bought 33.2% more year-on-year in April, reports Forbes.
