Region of Waterloo Public Health says a man in his 20s has become the ninth confirmed case of the novel coronavirus in Waterloo Region.
On its website, Public Health lists the man as having acquired the virus while travelling in the U.S. while also reporting that he is currently in self-isolation at home.
Ontario’s Ministry of Health confirmed the first death related to COVID-19 in the province on Tuesday. A 77-year-old man who died tested positive for the virus after coming in close contact with another positive case.
The man is reported to be from the Muskoka area. There were no new cases reported on Monday after four were reported in the region over the weekend.
