Coronavirus: Sir Elton John pledges $1million to AIDS foundation as Twitter CEO matches donation

Sir Elton John has pledged to donate an incredible $1million (£819k) to his AIDS foundation’s coronavirus emergency fund – which has been matched by Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.

The Your Song singer confirmed the move in a video on Instagram, in a bid to ‘protect the most marginalised communities’. In the clip, the 73-year-old told began: ‘Hi everybody I hope you’re staying safe.  ‘Recently my foundation launched a $1million Covid emergency fund to support our frontline partners to respond to the pandemic and it’s effects on HIV prevention and care for the most marginalised communities.
