An agreement securing 20 million doses of a potentially successful COVID-19 vaccine with AstraZeneca, being developed with the University of Oxford, was announced Friday by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

In addition, Trudeau announced $440 million in funding for Gavi’s COVAX Facility to ensure that when developed, a coronavirus vaccine will be available worldwide, including for impoverished nations because “to eliminate the virus anywhere, we need to eliminate it everywhere.”.
