Ten million doses of a breakthrough coronavirus vaccine could be available to the UK by the end of this year - if it gets approved in time.
Downing Street said the nation had already ordered 40million doses of the Pfizer jab, 10million of which will be “available to UK by the end of the year if the vaccine is approved by the regulators.” It comes after Pfizer and partner BioNTech today announced a major breakthrough, saying the jab was more than 90% effective in trials.
But Boris Johnson ’s spokesman also warned there was no final date and could not say how long the approval process would take.
