Boston Herald (9/24, Sobey) reports that “after months of families unable to meet with loved ones inside Massachusetts nursing homes amid the coronavirus pandemic, the Baker administration said it will now allow people to enter nursing homes for indoor visits.” On Thursday, the Baker administration “announced new indoor visit guidance for nursing homes and rest homes, along with expanding indoor visit options in assisted living residences.” The new “guidance goes into effect on Friday.” The Chicago Tribune (9/24, Mahr, McCoppin) reports that long-term care facilities in Illinois are “places where COVID-19 has taken a particularly staggering toll with no clear end in sight.” So far, the coronavirus “has infected more than 28,000 Illinois.
