Perth and Kinross is now recording its highest ever COVID-19 infection rate. Over 30 people in every 1000 currently have the virus, with the rate sitting at 313.3 per 100,000 on June 25.Just seven days earlier, the infection rate was 159.3.It is the first time the seven-day rate has been above 300 per 100,000.The proportion of positive tests has also broken through the five per cent target and now sits at eight per cent.It comes after a huge increase in cases across the region, with 476 recorded in the week up to June 25 - up from 242 the week before.
The North Inch area of Perth currently has a seven-day infection rate of 710.2 per 100,000. Most of the hotspot areas are in Perth, although other areas with infection rates above 400 per.
