MUMBAI: In an emergency move, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), sealed the central region and the Kondhwa area of the city, effective midnight of 6 April, to halt the further spread of covid-19 in these areas. “Family welfare committee of India has suggested the Pune Municipal Corporation to implement emergency prohibition procedures across these locations in Pune to control the highly contagious coronavirus disease.
The number of positive cases is on the rise in Pune every day, and it is difficult to deny that more positive cases may rise in Pune after the total number of positive cases in India is taken into consideration," said the PMC order issued on 6 April, which has been reviewed by Mint.
