With concerns rising over the rapid spread of the Indian variant in the town - currently the most infected place in the country - it seems the spike is being driven by school age children.

Figures from the end of last week show that rates among five to nine year olds and 10 to 14 year olds were the highest recorded rates for both age groups - making up a third of all cases in Bolton.
