Scotland are calling on the government to resume face-to-face appointments with GPs. For the last 18 months surgeries have been closed from the public following the devastating coronavirus pandemic that struck in March last year.

Despite the entire country moving out of lockdown, doctors are still preferring to diagnose patients over the phone instead of seeing them in person.

It has led to fears that people’s health is being put at risk unnecessarily.Meanwhile, in the last 24 hour period no coronavirus deaths have been recorded in Scotland.There were 3,189 new cases confirmed in that same time period, the latest Scottish Government announced.The death toll under the daily measurement - of people who first tested positive for the virus.

Kiss’ Gene Simmons has tested positive for COVID-19, representatives for the musician confirmed.The news was shared on Kiss’ social media page yesterday (August 31), just days after Simmons’ bandmate, Paul Stanley, also tested positive for the virus.The statement posted on social media read: “Kiss will postpone their next few tour dates. While Paul Stanley recently tweeted that he had recovered from Covid-19, Gene Simmons has now tested positive and is experiencing mild symptoms.“The band and crew will remain at home and isolate for the next ten days and doctors have indicated the tour should be able to resume on 9th September.”The group have so far postponed four tour dates in total; these events are expected to be rescheduled in time.
