Radcliffe last year.Zakari William Bennett-Eko was just 11-months-old when his body was pulled from the water on September 11, 2019.A trial previously heard that Bennett-Eko suffers from paranoid schizophrenia and that he 'believed that his son was the devil and that he was being told to drown him' at the time of the fatal incident. The 23-year-old dad had stopped taking his psychosis medication, causing his mental health to deteriorate, the court was told.Prosecutors allege that Bennett-Eko is guilty of manslaughter by diminished responsibility, with the defence case that he is not guilty by reason of insanity.Today, the jury were told by defence barrister, Peter Wright, that Bennett-Eko, of River Street in Radcliffe, had tried to seek help.
