Dave Greenfield died on Sunday, May 3, his bandmate Jean-Jackques has confirmed. Greenfield, who was a long-standing member of the band The Stranglers, was known for his distinctive sound and playing style which included the use of instruments such as the harpsichord and Hammond electric organ.The musician penned one of the band's greatest hits Golden Brown which reached the number 2 spot on the UK singles chart in 1982.Dave died at the age of 71 after contracting coronavirusBandmate Jean-Jacques said: "On the evening of Sunday, May 3, my great friend and long-standing colleague of 45 years, the musical genius that was Dave Greenfield, passed away as one of the victims of the Great Pandemic of 2020."All of us in the worldwide Stranglers'.
