Dogs give lonely seals a 'morale boost' after staff noticed they missed visitors

A group of lonely seals at an animal sanctuary were treated to a visit from excited puppies, to remind them what it is like to get visitors before coronavirus lockdown.

The Cornish Seal Sanctuary welcomes more than 100,000 guests each year, and each one has the chance to meet rescued seal pups and resident animals.

But for the first time in 60 years, the sanctuary has had to close its doors to outsiders because of the coronavirus lockdown.

The absence of people didn’t go amiss, as staff at the centre noticed seal pups have missed having visitors and interacting with someone other than their enclosure-mates.
