Drop in Ireland's 14-day incidence of Covid-19

The 14-day incidence of Covid-19 in Ireland for every 100,000 people is reducing. The latest report from the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) puts the figure at 493 cases, for every 100,000 people, up to 1 September.

Just over a week ago it was at 532. There were 100 Covid-19 outbreaks in the week to last Saturday, a small reduction on the previous week, according to the latest report from the HPSC.

Meanwhile, the number of people in hospital with Covid-19 is 353, new figures show. It represents an increase of 10 patients on yesterday's figures.

There are 59 people in intensive care with the virus. Latest coronavirus stories New figures also show that 89% of adults aged 18 years and older are now fully vaccinated.
