EastEnders will go off-air for 2 months BBC confirms as it launches spinoff series

Bosses at EastEnders have announced that they will be airing a string of special episodes before the hit soap opera looks set to vanish from screens for two months.

EastEnders will be taking a break with the last episode airing on June 16th, before filming resumes again later this month. The set of the soap bases in the fictional Walford neighbourhood was forced to close down in March due to the coronavirus lockdown with only two episodes airing each week in a bid to keep it on screens for as long as possible.

However, all is not lost as EastEnders: Secrets From The Square will burst onto screens on June 22, offering fans the chance to revisit some iconic scenes.
