Edmonton ends local state of emergency but the city still in serious financial pain

Mayor Don Iveson said the local state of emergency will end at midnight Thursday, but stressed we’re not in the clear when it comes to the risk of COVID-19 and people must continue to follow social distancing rules to prevent a second wave of infections.

He said the city is prepared to react to a resurgence of cases, if it happens, and added the city remains in need for financial help from higher levels of government.
