England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland may differ in easing lockdowns

England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland could ease coronavirus measures at different speeds, politicians said. Tensions between Downing Street and the devolved government in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland over perceived "mixed messages" to the public about the lockdown have emerged recently.

Although Boris Johnson has previously spoken of a "four-nations approach" to tackling the coronavirus crisis to ensure each UK country would follow the same path, leaders have used devolution powers to step away from this.
