Fall in number of patients in hospital with Covid-19

There has been a further reduction in the number of people in hospital in Ireland with Covid-19. As of 8am, there were 203 patients being treated for the virus.

It compares to a figure of 215 at the same time yesterday morning and 224 at 2pm yesterday. It also represents the lowest number of people in hospital with coronavirus since 11 October when there were 201 patients.

The latest Health Service Executive figures show there were 37 people receiving treatment for Covid-19 in intensive care units, as of 6.30pm yesterday.
