Families could be allowed to meet for up to a week at Christmas as part of a UK-wide easing of coronavirus restrictions, it has been reported.
Boris Johnson is said to be preparing to announce a plan next week for a relaxation of rules. It comes after Matt Hancock told a Downing Street briefing it was still too early to say what contact people will be able to have over the festive period.
The Health Secretary added it would be a "boost" to the UK if all four of its nations could reach arrangement to allow families to meet over Christmas.
It has since been reported that several families could be allowed to join a social bubble and to mix between December 22 and 28.
