Kent continues to lead England with the worst coronavirus infection rates - but there have been increases in cases elsewhere.
The county has become a patchwork of Covid-19 hotspots, on the eve of Boris Johnson's crucial tiers announcement. The country will learn on Thursday which restrictions each area will face once lockdown ends on December 2.
Northern leaders including Mayor Andy Burnham in Greater Manchester are already predicted they are likely to be plunged into the toughest Tier 3.
However he warned that the region was seeing rates drop significantly compared to other parts of the country. Parts of Kent, and Hull, east Yorkshire, are seeing much worse coronavirus rates.
