Fern Britton says she feels sorry for Phillip Schofield 's wife after he came out as gay. The This Morning presenter released a statement earlier this year in which he said he had come to the terms with the fact that he's gay after talking about it behind closed doors with his family.

Phillip has been married to his wife Stephanie Lowe since 1993 and they share daughters Molly, 27, and Ruby, 24. And while Fern has applauded her former co-host Phil for his bravery, she's admitted feeling sorry for his family.

She told talkRADIO: "We haven't seen each other for a very long time or spoken for a while. I'm glad for him. It's none of my business.
