Firefighters are tackling another moorland fire which is causing a large plume of smoke to drift into Tameside. The fire broke out at Rakes Moss, on the A628 Crowden to Glossop through the Woodhead Pass.

It is causing a large plume of smoke to drift into surrounding areas. Residents in Stalybridge are being asked to keep their windows and doors shut.

Glossop Fire Station shared a video of a helicopter dumping water on the blaze. In a tweet, the fire service said they were dealing with "multiple seats of fire".
