Legendary French crooner, Cristophe, known for songs Aline and Les Mots Bleus, has died at the age of 74. His death was confirmed by his wife, who said he passed following a battle with respiratory illness emphysema. ‘Christophe left,’ Véronique Bevilacqua and daughter Lucie said in a statement to Agence France-Presse. ‘Despite the unfailing dedication of the medical teams, his forces abandoned him. ‘Today, the words are falling apart … and all the long speeches are indeed futile.’ According to French newspaper Le Parisien, at the time of Christophe’s hospitalisation that he had tested positive for the coronavirus, however it hadn’t been confirmed by the singer’s agent.
