Brits on furlough due to coronavirus could see their wage subsidy cut down to just 60% as the Government encourages them to find new jobs.
Chancellor Rishi Sunak is reportedly planning on"winding down" the furlough scheme, which was recently extended to the end of June.
Under the scheme, firms can furlough their employees who may have otherwise lost their jobs in the pandemic and the Government pays up to 80% of their wages up to a maximum of £2,500 a month.
That subsidy could be significantly reduced in an effort to encourage people back into the workforce, the Evening Standard reports.
