BBC news presenter George Alagiah has returned to work hosting the evening news after beating coronavirus. The 64-year-old newsreader, who is battling stage 4 cancer, was praised by viewers and colleagues alike when he made his return to the 6-o-clock news on Tuesday.
Last month, George revealed he had been diagnosed with the potentially deadly COVID-19 virus and was forced to stay away from the newsroom.
Fellow news host Sophie Raworth had praised George ahead of his TV return by revealing he would be back to host the news after fighting both coronavirus and cancer.
