Gold prices in India fell today with June futures on MCX down 0.6% to ₹42,693 per 10 gram. With today's fall, gold is now down for fourth day in a row.
In the previous session, gold was down 0.9% or about ₹400 per 10 gram. Some buying was seen in silver with May futures on MCX today rising 0.2% to ₹39,600 per kg.
Gold rates had fallen sharply in the previous session in global markets. Since March 30, timings of commodity derivatives trading in India has been reduced to 8 hours.
Till April 14th, trading will be done from 9 am to 5 pm. In global markets, gold prices inched higher, with spot bullion rate up 0.4% at $1,577.8 per ounce.
