Greater Manchester Police chief constable Ian Hopkins has warned that the Premier League should not rush to return during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Premier League are hopeful of a potential return to action on June 12, following in the footsteps of the German Bundesliga, which kicks off a full set of fixtures this weekend.
The league held a meeting with representatives of all 20 clubs on Monday to discuss potential plansm including the use of neutral venues and actions required for testing and the safety of both players and staff.
However, Greater Manchester Police have warned that there should be no rush to bring professional football back before it is safe to do so.
