MUMBAI : A spurt in covid-19 cases have been reported in the last 24 hours in and around the JSW’s primary steel plant Toranagallu Steel Works in Karnataka. According to local media reports, a total of 76 people – steel plant workers, their family members and immediate contacts – have tested positive on Wednesday and Thursday.More than a 100 contacts of those who have tested positive are now quarantined in local hotels, Deccan Herald reported on 11 June.

NEW DELHI : The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) on Tuesday raised the customs duty on bamboo used in making agarbatti to encourage use of domestic bamboo and to support growers.CBIC said in a notification that customs duty on bamboo import has been raised from 10% to 25% with immediate effect as part of the government’s efforts to encourage self-reliance. Spike of Ebola infections in Congo raises WHO's fears of new major outbreak
Ebola outbreak has been raised after 12 people have been diagnosed with the killer disease in the Democratic Republic of Congo, according to a World Health Organisation report.
