Gerry Marsden bowed out of the limelight in 2016 after years of battling with his health. The Gerry And The Pacemakers' frontman died after an infection in his heart just four years later.

Gerry hung up his guitar after almost 60 years of touring with Gerry And The Pacemakers. As the years went on, he was looking forward to spending more time with his family - mainly his wife Pauline and their two daughters Yvette and Vicky.

By 2016, he was living most of his life out in Spain with his family. Behind the scenes, the You'll Never Walk Alone hitmaker battled with health conditions and he had a series of operations on his heart.
