Hong Kong airport trials disinfection booths that kill coronavirus 'within 40 seconds'

In the hopes of reducing the spread of coronavirus, Hong Kong International Airport has started trialling several new technologies.

The airport has enlisted the help of robotic cleaners, while passengers will also use full-body disinfection booths. Steven Yiu, Deputy Director, Service Delivery of the Hong Kong Airport Authority (AA), said: “The safety and wellbeing of airport staff and passengers are always our first priority. “Although air traffic has been impacted by the pandemic, the AA spares no effort in ensuring that the airport is a safe environment for all users. “We will continue to look into new measures to enhance our cleaning and disinfection work.” Passengers will have their temperature taken before entering the ‘CLeanTech’
