BENGALURU : A new app developed by food aggregator Swiggy and others, through a crowd sourced model, has helped the Karnataka government deliver almost 1 million cooked meals to the needy in Bengaluru, since the beginning of the April.

The app, Dasoha 2020, has become one of the biggest support systems for the government to deliver around 1.7 lakh cooked meals twice a day to construction workers, labourers and others who have been forced indoors with no work or money to feed themselves or their families since the 21-day lockdown was imposed across the country to help contain the spread of the novel coronavirus. “On Tuesday, 1.7 lakh meals were delivered to around 85,000 people," an official overlooking the operations said, requesting not
