A French couple whose son was thrown from Tate Modern's viewing platform have told how their lives have been ripped apart by his brush with death.

The family were enjoying a sunny day sightseeing in London and had eaten a picnic together by the Thames before visiting the gallery.

The six-year-old boy had skipped ahead of his parents when he was snatched by mentally disturbed Jonty Bravery and hurled over the railing on the 10th floor - resulting in life-changing injuries that have left him in a wheelchair and requiring round-the-clock care.
