How virus restrictions change from today

Some minor easing of Covid-19 restrictions come into effect here today. People can now travel up to 5km from their home to exercise.

The previous limit was 2km. Medically vulnerable people who are cocooning can now also leave home to exercise, as long as they avoid contact with other people.

This group includes those aged over 70, transplant recipients, people on immunosuppression therapies or who have severe respiratory conditions.

Medically vulnerable people are still advised to stay at home and only go out for "a short walk for exercise beyond your garden or yard".
