Common sense and perspective has finally prevailed following the decision to postpone this summer's Olympic Games. Better late than never, I suppose.
But the decision should have been much sooner. The thought processes of the International Olympic Committee and Japanese government should have been much clearer and decisive.
While the sporting calendar found itself decimated due to the coronavirus crisis, the Olympic torch continued to burn bright, symbolising the barely believable fact the Games would still go ahead as normal.
