The Claire Byrne Live programme broadcast live from outside Dublin's Mater Hospital tonight. As the crisis worsens, Claire heard from doctors, nurses, porters and other workers on the Covid-19 frontline.
There are 79 confirmed cases of the virus at the Mater Hospital and another 15 suspected cases. Intensive care nurse Róisín McCourt urged people to "keep your guard up" in the fight against Covid-19.
She described how the majority of patients in critical care - who can communicate - are "shocked" to find themselves there. Ms McCourt said most had complied with the guidelines but "let their guard down momentarily" and allowed the virus to transmit. "All they wish they could do is turn back the time," she said.
