Kate's husband Derek Draper became seriously ill with the disease in spring and the presenter has been sharing her family's emotional journey with viewers throughout the year.

She has now teamed up with the RSM to advise Brits on how they can have a merry Christmas in the safest way possible. From December 23, Brits will be allowed to form a Christmas bubble of up to three households for a five-day period, allowing families to reunite for festive.
