NEW DELHI : In a first for India, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led government in Delhi on Monday launched a plasma bank for treating covid-19 patients.Delhi was one of the first states to give the go-ahead for plasma therapy in April.
It has now stated that the proposed plasma bank will be up and running in two days, chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said.The facility is to be set up at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), and will be made available to government and private hospitals.Delhi, with 27,847 active patients undergoing treatment, has the second highest number of active coronavirus cases in India.
