Kimberly Kardashian West (née Kimberly Noel Kardashian; born October 21, 1980) is an American media personality, model, businesswoman, socialite and actress. Kardashian first gained media attention as a friend and stylist of Paris Hilton but received wider notice after a 2002 sex tape, Kim Kardashian, Superstar, with her then-boyfriend Ray J was released in 2007. Kim Kardashian has struck another wrong chord with her SKIMS brand after marketing a set of black face masks as ‘nude’ for black women. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star has launched non-medical face masks under her shapewear brand, and has donated 10,000 of the protective garments to a coronavirus charity.
In the marketing shots, Kim has used five models with different skin tones ranging from white to black however, it’s the latter which has sparked backlash. ‘Shop @SKIMS Face Masks in 5 shades of Nudes atSKIMS.COM,’ Kim tweeted alongside the advertising photos.
The black model is seen striking a pose wearing a face mask in the colour black, which clearly is not nude for her skin tone.
